Messages from the Classroom…
Thank you to all the parents who came to discuss their children's next steps during learning conversations. It was
  a very positive week.
Last week we sent out passwords for Sumdog. A great interactive math website that your child can use for the year to improve their Math skills and speed.  It is a very clever site which adjusts to your child’s level.  So if other children or adults use it gives teachers incorrect reports and does not allow your child the opportunity to improve their skills.  Please allow your child time to use this great programme at home.
IT IS TIME FOR THE SHORE TO SHORE . Please remember to register, it's a fun event for the whole family.
Please help me to learn my spelling words.  We are tested every week.
Thank you to all the wonderful Mums who are assisting in keeping  Room 16 germ free and for putting away readers.  Kind Regards Jenny Southward  jsouthward@torbay.school.nz

Many thanks to the parents who are putting books away, sharpening pencils and cleaning tables, helping other families, welcoming new families to Torbay School and New Zealand.  Everything helps!

Notes will be going home this week for a trip later in March.  We would appreciate help as it is essential when taking children out of the school environment.  Sorry, we are unable to take preschoolers due to safety.

Swimming  -  everyday except for Tuesday
Please bring togs and towel in a bag.  We are currently assessing and grouping children.  We ask that swimming gear comes almost everyday, although once children are grouped they will not swim everyday but this will help avoid confusion and children will always be prepared to swim in case of sudden changes.
Reminder - We swim rain or shine as long as possible in Term 1.  Swimming is an important learning area.  If your child is unable to swim for medical reasons please send a note to the teacher.
Please remember that everything needs to be clearly named to ensure it is not mixed up with other gear.
